CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN, ENGINEERING & APPLIED MATHEMATICS
Hello, my name is Abraham Cilliers. I am a new teacher coming from Pittsburg State University and I am teaching some of the Technology and Engineering courses this year along with the traditional Industrial Technology courses. This year is going to be very exciting as we introduce new PLTW classes and watch our new CTE building being constructed in our backyard.
A little about me: I am from Pratt KS, graduating from a very small rural school. In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, running with my dog, and riding my motorcycle. Being new to the area, I hope to get involved in the community as soon as I can.
In this upcoming year, I am very excited to introduce new classes and a new club called TSA (Technology Student Association). Students will have the opportunity to enter and compete in technology-related events at the state level and possibly qualify to compete in the national competition. The new class that I am introducing this year is called CSP (Computer Science Principles). Through this course, students will learn basic programming skills, up to professional level coding as well as some website development skills. We will also cover some of the expectations along with a career in computer sciences such as ethics and professionalism.
My first semester classes are scheduled as the following:
Green Day Gold Day
PLAN Cabinetmaking & Furn Design II
Cabinetmaking/Furn Design I Computer Science Principles
Residential Carpentry I Cabinetmaking & Furn Design II
